Thoughts from a man

One thing I love about Josh is he really does always keep me laughing.  He is one of those people who is funny without meaning to be.  I need to keep a little pad of paper with me so I can jot down his entertaining comments.

Here are two of his antics this week:

1. We were walking around our future neighborhood tonight looking for landscaping ideas.  Our yard needs MAJOR love.  It is going to be quite the undertaking.  We have discussed making the area under our giant magnolia tree a natural area.  I said, "Yes that will be great to have mulch under there to make it look neater."  He said, "I was actually thinking pine straw.  I think our yard should look just like Augusta."

What could I say?  The man has the golf bug big time.

Looks like we have our work cut out for us!
Bless his heart -- I don't think pine straw is going to transform our yard.

2. Josh also has some interesting thoughts on women's fashion.  I haven't been doing much shopping lately, but I always love his commentary when I come home with something new.  When I put on the dress below he said, "You look great -- just like a PanAm stewardess."  Exactly what I was going for, love.

Never a dull moment, but I couldn't love him more!  Cannot believe we've been married nearly 3 years.

Whit

House Update & Den Inspiration

House Update:
We (and by we, I mean the excellent workers Gephart Hill has in place) have been making lots of progress.  I'm trying not to bore you by posting too much about the house, but the exterior has really been transformed so I thought I'd share a "before v. current" photo comparison.  Siding is up, windows are in, new roof is on....just need to repair stucco, add brick steps and paint the entire exterior.

With the progress going on structurally, the time is ticking for aesthetic decisions to all be made.  Obviously we won't be doing all the decorating and accessorizing for many years...but I'm at least trying to come up with overall ideas so I can start prioritizing and have some method to my madness.

Here is my current den inspiration board:
Since the den will be open to the kitchen, my current green accents and den rug will find a new home in the living room.  My furniture and art will stay in the den, just update with a few new blue pieces to tie into the blue theme in the kitchen. (Bailey- don't worry...the ENTIRE house won't be blue & white!) :)

Still not loving everything, but won't be buying any decorating items until long after we move anyways...

Whit

I love the farm: weekend at Chilly Water

One of my dearest friends, Grayson, invited me to her family's farm for the weekend.  It could not have been more fun, relaxing and gorgeous -- I enjoyed every second and can see why the Brown family fell completely in love with this place.  I took lots of pictures - so please enjoy a sneak peak into their farm life.  Warning: cuteness overload below.

Seriously?!  So. darn. cute.

Brown Family - thank you for being such wonderful hosts.  I hope to come back to the farm many more times -- I couldn't have loved it more!

Mom & Dad- thanks for a fun birthday dinner on Friday night.  So thankful I've been able to see you guys 3 weekends in May.

XO,
Whit
